On February 12, 2015 the Women’s Caucus for Art honored its 2015 WCA Lifetime Achievement Awardees: Sue Coe, Kiki Smith, and Martha Wilson. The recipient for the 2015 President’s Art & Activism Award was Petra Kuppers. More photos soon!

Juror: Judith Brodsky 
WCA Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Judith K. Brodsky is Distinguished Professor Emerita, Department of Visual Arts, Rutgers University; Founding Director of the Rutgers Center for Innovative Print and Paper (renamed the Brodsky Center in her honor); co-founder and co-director with Ferris Olin of the Rutgers Institute for Women and Art, and The Feminist Art Project, a national program to promote recognition of women artists. She is past national president of ArtTable, the College Art Association, and the Women's Caucus for Art. She was a contributor to The Power of Feminist Art, the first comprehensive history of the American women's movement in art. A printmaker and artist, Brod sky's work is in the permanent collections of over 100 museums and corporations.  

Eligibility: WCA Members and Non-Members, male and female, working individually or collectively, who live in the United States, are invited to submit artworks for this exhibition. 
Artwork Specifications: Up to three artworks. 2D, 3D, video, installation and performance are acceptable for submission. Detailed proposals for site specific installations, videos and performances will be considered. (Note: Diptychs, triptychs or artworks with multiple parts are considered to be a single artwork. They should be submitted with one image showing all parts together.)

Current WCA members: $25 for up to three artworks.   
Non-members: $35 for up to three artworks.

Concept (Dis)Comfort is an exhibition of artwork reflecting on the comforts and discomforts of being a female in contemporary society. Comfort is something that is driven by both external and internal forces. The external forces burden women with stereotypes, gender roles, injustices and situational discomfort but also comforts women in the confidence of like-minded individuals and support from. Internally, spiritual, mental and physical self-reflection both ease uncertainties and manifest new ones. The power struggle fabricated within us is a reflection of the discomfort and comfort of all women in contemporary society today.

About the Gallery: Sue Natzler founded the Piante Gallery in 2000. The Gallery is located at 620 Second St in Eureka, California. Eureka is a summer vacation destination for many. Piante Gallery has a large clientele base and attracts many visitors. The gallery is open from noon to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday.

Eligibility: All artists must be currently enrolled in College or University (undergraduate, or graduate) and/or graduated in the last 5 years and reside in the United States. Categories Accepted: Original sculpture, painting, drawing, photo, printmaking, ceramics, jewelry, assemblage, mixed media, fibers, artists’ books and small installations. The exhibition cannot accept film, or performance. Special electronics or installation must be supplied or prearranged by the artist. Work must be up for the duration of the exhibit. Artist’s Statement: Please provide a statement about how your work relates to the concept of this exhibition.

Entry and Fee: Payment of a $15 (USD) non-refundable entry fee is required. An entry consists of 1 – 3 submissions of artwork. A maximum of 2 entries per person is allowed.

CALL FOR ART: Women Do It! Postcard Exhibition Deadline: T/K

WCA's International Caucus and its UN Program invite individual artists, mail artists, students, children, activists and concerned individuals of all genders and ages as well as classrooms and organizations to create altered or hand-made postcards on the theme of 'Women Do It!' Exhibition.

What are noteworthy achievements by women? What impacts have women had on the economy, human rights, education, environment, world health, religion, politics and peace? Who are our women and girl heroes in our family and in our community? Which women do you admire in leadership, public service, sports and in the arts?

”Women Do It!” supports both the UN Women’s #HeForShe campaign and the upcoming 2015 Commission on the Status of Women’s Beijing+20 Conference in their efforts toward advancing women’s rights and gender equality in society, economics and politics.

Altered postcards and hand-made postcards 4 x 6 inches in size. Any material that can travel through the mail may be used to construct the postcards. Postcards must be stamped and mailed, preferably without an envelope, through the postal system.
